Important disclosures regarding our psychiatric evaluations and court reports services
1. Voluntary and Personalized
Our evaluations are voluntary and built around your unique situation, needs, and potential therapeutic recommendations.
They can be helpful in many different legal, administrative, or employment-related matters.
Please note: these are not the same as evaluations ordered directly by a court or another authority; these are voluntary (something you are adding on your own to support your case).
Our role is to provide expert mental health analysis (and treatment of needed and requested)—not legal advice.
2. Clinical, Not Legal Advice
Our evaluations, reports, and recommendations are clinical in nature—intended to highlight mental health factors relevant to your life and case.
They are not legal advice and do not replace the services of an attorney.
Only you and/or your attorney may decide whether our finished report, which we will deliver only to you and/or your attorney) will ultimately be submitted to a court or hearing panel.
3. Working Together
A comprehensive evaluation typically involves multiple interviews (by phone, video, or in person), as well as reviewing records and, in some cases, conducting medical, psychological, laboratory, or other tests.
We may ask you to share important documents (such as medical, school, work, or legal records) so we can see the full picture.
We ask you to be real: even sensitive results, such as positive drug tests, can provide valuable context, allowing evaluators to recommend fair interventions (e.g., treatment, counseling, or restitution) rather than punitive outcomes.
4. Background and Documentation
With your permission, we may request records or run a background check.
You may also be asked to share additional items, such as copies of diplomas, certificates, transcripts, or letters that demonstrate your accomplishments and character.
These details help us create a well-rounded and accurate report.
5. References and Support System
We may suggest including 3–7 references who know you well and can speak about your history or current situation.
These can include family members, colleagues, and at least two mentors or community leaders, such as clergy, teachers, school officials, activists, business owners, and elected officials.
Their perspectives help show your support network and personal strengths.
6. Privacy and Safety
Your privacy matters. We maintain the confidentiality of your information and adhere to professional and legal standards.
As licensed professionals, we do have certain “duty to warn” responsibilities. This means that if, during our work together, we believe there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or to someone else, we are legally and ethically required to take reasonable steps to help keep people safe. This may include contacting emergency services, notifying potential victims, or involving other professionals or agencies who can provide protection and support. Outside of these rare situations, everything you share with us remains private and confidential.
7. Objectivity and Professional Standards
Our assessments and conclusions are based on scientific, evidence-based methods and the highest professional standards.
Our role is not to create excuses but to identify genuine mental health factors that may inform understanding of your case.
If no significant psychological factors are identified, we will state this clearly in our report.
8. Financial Considerations
These services are specialized and often not covered by insurance.
We’ll review costs, timelines, and payment options with you before getting started, so there are no surprises.
Additional requests, such as expedited reports or in-court testimony, may require separate arrangements.
9. Timing and Delivery
Most reports are ready in about eight (8) weeks. Rush options may be available.
We provide completed reports in final form (not drafts).
If future updates are needed, we can set up a new evaluation.
10. Our Commitment to You
Courts and hearing panels often value responsibility, empathy, and genuine efforts toward healing.
Our evaluations aim to amplify your voice by presenting an accurate and professional account of your mental health.
Ultimately, these assessments can help foster a fairer and balanced outcome in your case.
Why Wait?
We know this process can feel unfamiliar, and we’re here to make it as straightforward and supportive as possible. Don't wait until your hearing date gets too close.
Thorough evaluation and reports take time. You can get started by requesting a free case evaluation right now!
